ANAÏS CLERC, born in Fribourg, Switzerland, discovered theatre and writing through youth projects and an educational approach to the art form. She studied Scenic Writing at the University of Arts in Berlin. For the past three years, her plays have been presented at venues including Volkstheater Munich, the Salzburg State Theatre, Schauspiel Essen, and the Autor:innentheatertage at Deutsches Theater Berlin. In 2023/24, she was the resident playwright at Bühnen Bern and was nominated for the Heidelberg Play Market's Playwrights’ Prize (Autorinnenpreis*) with brennendes haus. She also serves as a juror for children’s and youth theatre. Anaïs lives in both Berlin and Switzerland. She is currently the recipient of the Lydia Eymann Fellowship and is working on her first novel, SCHLUCHTEN.
